About us
No One Should Go Cold in Pictou County
The Pictou County Fuel Fund provides urgent assistance for those who do not have options and face the prospects of an unheated home environment during the winter months.
The Pictou County Fuel Fund was formed by the Pictou County Council of Churches in response to the need witnessed in our neighbourhood.. Fuel was first dispensed during the 2007-2008 season.
The Fuel Fund is a volunteer driven organization with the sole purpose of providing short-term fuel/heating support for those who find themselves in extraordinary need. The Fuel Fund has extremely low overhead, less than 5 percent is spent on expenses: donors know when one supports the Fuel Fund the support is going directly to families who need it.
The Fuel Fund does not receive any government funding, relying entirely on the donations of individuals, churches, municipal governments, schools and corporations.
